Description from the seller
Elegant service of shell-shaped plates in white porcelain, characterized by a refined ornamental decor in coral orange, red and gold tones. Production from the early years of the twentieth century, probably by Richard Ginori. There are no marks on the pieces of the set, but there are references to the model used, especially in the colors chosen for the decoration.
The shape of the plates is shell-shaped, enhanced by a thin radial relief work that develops from the central part toward the edge and gives the surface a delicate plastic effect. The most distinctive element is the perimeter decoration: a double circular line in orange and gold follows the profile of the plate, breaking at the elegant ornamental motif of scrolls arranged on the edge. The motif, enriched with small gold details, features sinuous and geometric shapes that recall a floral or vegetal stylization.
The combination between the purity of the white background, the bright orange and the gold details creates an extremely luminous and sophisticated contrast. The composition, while maintaining a certain traditional elegance, reveals a clear search for modern decorative taste.
For formal characteristics, the service is attributable to the Art Deco / early twentieth century taste, in particular to that porcelain production that reinterpreted floral and naturalistic motifs through more stylized, geometric and dynamic lines.
A service of great decorative impact, particularly interesting for those who appreciate historical porcelains of the early twentieth century and the more refined interpretations of the Art Deco language.
Hand-painted polychrome decorations.
Dimensions 11.5x14x2.5 cm
Excellent condition.
