A pair of vintage Italian hand-blown amethyst-purple glass vases with a silver overlay, dating to 1950–1960, each about 11 cm high and 8 cm in diameter, in good used condition with minor signs of age and spots.
Description from the seller
Beautiful pair of vintage amethyst purple glass vases with a silver overlay (c. 1950, Italy). It is a particularly charming and elegant set of two mouth-blown glass vases from the mid-20th century, presumably of Italian origin (Murano/Florence). The vases are made of high-quality, transparent glass in a deep amethyst-purple hue that glows beautifully when light passes through. This unique pair shares the same classic baluster shape with a slender, curvy body, a narrow neck, and a wide flaring rim. Both pieces are richly decorated with a handmade, silvery overlay. The top rim and the base ring are finished with a solid silver edge. Although the vases form a perfect matching pair in shape and color, each displays a different handcrafted scene: one vase is adorned with a refined floral motif featuring a large open flower and curling tendrils; the other vase shows an exotic, narrative coastal landscape with detailed palm trees and gently lapping water. With a compact height of 12 cm and a diameter of 8 cm, these stylish eye-catchers make a beautiful addition to any mid-century glass art collection or as a decorative vintage accent in a modern interior. The vases are in lovely vintage condition, bearing characteristic age patina on the silver painting, which contributes to the authentic, historic look of the pieces. A rarity to find as a complete, complementary pair. They are carefully packaged and shipped with Track & Trace worldwide.
