Description from the seller

Magnificent Dutch Art Deco / Amsterdam School occasional table - 1920-1930

A particularly nicely shaped Dutch occasional table, made of oak and featuring a characteristic and decorative design. The table stands out for its finely shaped legs, the elegantly worked base, and the geometrically designed top. The strong forms and decorative details give the whole piece an unmistakable, almost architectural look that beautifully aligns with Art Deco and the Amsterdam School.

The square top is composed of beautifully tapering wood sections, creating a striking geometric pattern. The warm honey-brown to mid-brown color of the oak provides a cozy and natural appearance. The combination of straight lines, symmetric shapes, and decoratively formed components makes this table a characteristic piece of furniture from the interwar period.

This elegant occasional table originates from the Netherlands and is estimated to date from around 1920–1930. Due to its compact size, the table is versatile to use, for example as a plant stand, a bedside or lamp table, a plinth for a decorative object, or as a stylish occasional table beside an armchair or sofa.

The table comes beautifully into its own in an Art Deco or Amsterdam School interior, but also forms a special decorative accent in a classic, vintage, or modern interior. The warm oak wood and the distinctive design give the table a lovely and timeless appearance.
