Josef Koudelka
The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo/2013/japanese/245*255*25
A collection of works by Josef Koudelka, one of the most important photographers of the 20th century. This is a collection of catalog works published on the occasion of an exhibition held at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo in 2013-14. In his early years, he worked on theater and theatrical photography, gaining a reputation for his original approach, while developing his skills through his parallel work in gypsy settlements in the Czech Republic, a series of which came to fruition in 1968 with “Prague Spring” (introduced anonymously at the time and awarded the Robert Capa Prize). After becoming an exile, he continued to travel and photograph throughout Europe, publishing his work as “Exils / Exiles,” as well as panoramic landscapes such as those in ‘Chaos’ and "Wall. He has since consolidated his position as a leading photographer. This book is a collection of catalog works published on the occasion of an exhibition held at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo from 2013 to 2014. The aforementioned works are presented in chronological order.
