-This special edition, issued for the 35th anniversary of the BMW V8 Club, aims to fill a gap. So far, in our club journals over the decades, two works have been published that have brought us the interesting type history and the surprisingly high number of types despite the small production quantity of Barockengelära a bit closer to us. Andreas Jeschke compiled an initial chronological list of the different vehicle types in the early 1980s. Hans Jürgen Theis researched further details in a very extensive typology in the mid-1990s. In both works, the special body variants that were built on the Barockengel frame were repeatedly noted, including bodies by Autenrieth, Beutler, Loewy & Michelotti 507, Pinin Farina Wendler, Worblaufen, etc.... This work does not constitute a comprehensive manufacturer chronology. The focus was placed on the available data material such as registration entries and archival photos of the documented vehicles. The present imagery, despite optical post-processing, in places does not meet today’s quality standards. This work does not claim completeness. Vehicles will repeatedly appear that fill the existing gaps.
