Ancient Egyptian bronze Harpocrates figure, a naked child holding a cornucopia, dating to the late Ptolemaic period (332–30 BC), with a custom black wooden base, height 8.7 cm (11.6 cm with base), in excellent condition and authentic.
Description from the seller
Harpocrates in bronze holding a cornucopia (horn of plenty)
Harpocrates or Horus the Child in Egyptian, son of Isis and Osiris, is depicted as a naked child, curly hair falling on his shoulders, a finger before the mouth.
He is crowned with the pschent, the double crown of Lower and Upper Egypt.
He is depicted with the left leg forward. He places the index finger of the right hand to his mouth. His left hand holds a cornucopia, symbol of the fertility of nature, of which he personifies the inexhaustible forces.
Delivered with its elegant black wooden base made to measure.
