Bonbon basket (2) - .800 silver - Small jar with a bow

Typology: Small bowl / table centerpiece dish (money box, candy holder).
Material: Silver grade 800/1000 (alloy composed of 80% pure silver and 20% copper).
Producer / Manufacture: Argenteria Luigi Calegaro (Padua, Italy).
Stamps present: 800 stamped in free space (verifying the metal’s fineness). 4 PD inserted inside a simple lozenge without a fasces (identification mark of the Calegaro company).
Era of production: Postwar period, precisely datable between 1944 and 1968.
Style: Classic / Italian Deco with a wavy, straight-edged rim.
The oval body rests on small feet worked in relief.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The structure shows no deformations or breaks. There is a natural and widespread superficial oxidation (dark patina), concentrated especially on the edges and near the stamps, removable with a light polish if a mirror finish is desired.

Style: Italian Modernism from the mid-20th century, characterized by a figurative and elegant “bag” or “paper bag” design, completed by a knotted trim in relief at the neck.
Stamps: The “800” fineness mark is set in an oval at the bottom of the vase. The manufacturer’s mark is impressed in a lozenge with cut sides, containing the Treviso province code (TV), attributable to the historical production of Argenteria Schiavon (period 1944-1968).

Condition: Excellent. The structure shows no deformations or deep dents. Normal surface patina from atmospheric oxidation is observed on the base and in the folds of the knot, with the silversmith’s stamp partially impressed but identifiable.
