Decorative Belgian-made mantel clock in a French Boulle style with a red and black finish, featuring a mechanical spring-driven movement and a working time-and-strike mechanism, circa 1970–1980, measuring 47 cm high by 20 cm wide by 15 cm deep and weighing 4 g.
Description from the seller
Decorative French Boulle-Style Mantel Clock - Red & Black Finish - Working
Description:
Charming decorative mantel clock in the classic French Boulle style, featuring a rich red and black finish with intricate scrollwork inlay and ornate gold-tone cast mounts.
This clock is a mid-to-late 20th-century decorative reproduction (likely dating from around the 1960s to 1980s) rather than a 19th-century antique.
Condition: The clock is working, but please note that it is being sold as-is for parts or display, as it has not been recently adjusted for exact timekeeping.
Details: This is a later decorative vintage/retro reproduction piece rather than an antique (the bottom shows some wood/particle material with minor wear and tape repair, and the back features a synthetic/plastic panel).
Features: Beautiful ornate dial face with Roman numeral cartouches, glass viewing panel, decorative feet, and a hinged access door on the back.
CLOCK MECHANISM
Power reserve: Mechanical spring-driven power reserve (typically a standard vintage 8-day or short-duration spring mechanism style typical of these decorative reproductions)
Striking: Mechanical time-and-strike mechanism (designed to sound on the hour/half-hour or fitted for a traditional acoustic strike train)
A striking decorative statement piece for a mantel, shelf, or desk.
