An alabaster decorative slab dating from 1850–1900, carved with a Florentine lily motif, measuring 40 cm high, 36 cm wide and 4 cm deep, weighing about 8 kg, produced in Italy (Florence, Tuscany).
Description from the seller
Refined decorative alabaster carved slab, featuring an elegant Florentine lily motif, a symbol par excellence of Tuscan tradition and Medicean identity. The quality of the material, with a soft and luminous surface, gives the object a sober yet highly decorative presence, capable of enhancing classic, historic, or eclectic interiors.
The execution, even in its essentiality, conveys a strong heraldic appeal, making the piece interesting both as a furnishing element and as a historical testimony of the mother city of the Renaissance. The patina and the slight traces of time emphasize its authentic charm.
Coming from a house near the well-known Medicean Villa of Poggio a Caiano, in the Florentine hills, the slab carries with it the fascination of a location linked to a historical and territorial context of great value. This origin increases its collectible and decorative interest, suggesting use in representative environments or in interiors with a Tuscan taste.
The object presents normal signs of wear, compatible with its age and use. Natural irregularities of the material, small abrasions, and defects consistent with the work and preservation over time are visible, which do not compromise the overall aesthetic readability.
Dimensions: 40 cm height x 36 cm width. Weight 8 kg.
