An Art Nouveau WMF lamp from Geislingen, Germany, dating to around 1900, made with silver-plated Britannia metal over a tin alloy, and measuring 32.5 cm in height with a base of 15.5 × 21.5 cm.
Description from the seller
Rare Liberty-style chandelier, WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), Geislingen, circa 1900. The figurative design rendered in Britannia silvered metal (tin alloy) shows a graceful, flowing stylized female figure. The figure rests on an organically curved base in the shape of branches and leaves, echoing the whip-like lines typical of Art Nouveau. On the rear edge of the base lies the authentic WMF mark with the additional designations "I/O" for the standard thickness of silver plating and "OX" for the oxidized finish, antique gray, and the model number "124". It includes a copper candle cup and a charming cut-crystal drip tray vase. The sculptural rendering of the facial features and the attachment of the hair emphasizes the high quality of manufacture. A classic WMF-era collectible, straddling historicism and modernity, in good original condition with characteristic patina and light signs of wear. Dimensions: Height 32.5 cm, base width 15.5 cm, base length 21.5 cm, vase diameter 11 cm, vase height 6 cm. Weight 1010 g. Excellent condition, perfect silvering, superb preservation. Safe and careful packaging. Shipping with insurance and traceability.
