Description from the seller
BRAL
Sheet metal airplane
Breda Ba.39
Made in Italy
*****
Old years ’30-‘40
Breda Ba.39
sheet metal airplane,
wingspan 45 cm
a length 34 cm
The Breda 39 was an aircraft used for Sport and Tourism
low-wing monoplane with semi-cantilever
with Colombo S63 engine (130 HP)
Maximum speed: 222 km/h
First flight: 1932
Manufacturer: BRAL – made in Italy
In 1902 Roberto Braglia opened a small workshop in Milan for production, among other things, of toys
In 1935, Roberto’s son Arnaldo succeeded his father, leaving the cramped workshop in Via Sarpi to move the company to a larger premises.
He then had a fortunate intuition, that of exploiting popular enthusiasm (well supported by the regime of the time) for the enterprises of that era in our aviation.
He therefore produced a series of fairly faithful reproductions of aircraft of the Regia Aeronautica in model kit form with results more than appreciable.
But the real turning point was the start of production of the “Costruttore Meccanico,” i.e., the first Italian version of the universally known English Meccano,
The success did not fail, also because it was a national production in competition with the English one, which at that time was not well regarded
In that same year 1952 BRAL also entered the electric train market
In the 1960s the factory closed
tracked shipment
