Specimen: Turnstone and Oyster Catcher; Scientific name not stated; original nineteenth‑century hand‑coloured lithograph (Plate 80) by J. W. Hill, printed at Lith. of Endicott, New York, 1844, from Zoology of New‑York – Part II: Birds; dimensions 25 × 15 cm; good overall condition with minor aging and foxing, margins intact, white reverse side.

Original 19th-century lithograph, hand-colored, depicting two wading birds (Plate 80), illustrated by J.W. Hill and printed at “Lith. of Endicott, New York”.
The plate is attributed to the famous American natural history work Zoology of New-York – Part II: Birds by James E. De Kay, published in 1844.
The original inscriptions are present:
* Plate 80
* Fig. 182
* Fig. 183
* J.W. Hill
* Lith. of Endicott, New York
This is an original lithograph from the period, not a modern reprint, ideal for collectors of antique prints, natural history and ornithology.
Conditions
The lithograph is in good condition for its age.
It shows:
* light signs of aging;
* slight paper yellowing;
* some small foxing spots and light oxidation stains, visible especially in white areas and along some edges;
* complete margins;
* white reverse, with normal signs of aging, free of text or visible restorations.
The image is well preserved, with colors still pleasing and details crisp.
