IKEA - Floor lamp (2) - VISTOFTA - Plastic, Metal - Matching Set

Very decorative and increasingly hard-to-find matching set of two IKEA VISTOFTA floor lamps, type G0608. A characteristic Scandinavian design with pronounced graphic styling, fitting within the postmodern interior design of the 1980s.

The lamps feature an elegant, slender construction consisting of two black metal uprights on a sturdy geometrically shaped black base. The most striking element is the tall, tapering white lampshade. The shade is composed of curved, light-transmitting segments accented by vertical black profiles. This creates a strong contrast between black and white and gives the lamps a recognizable architectural character.

When the lamps are switched on, the white shades diffuse the light in a pleasant, diffuse way. The light source remains largely hidden from view, resulting in warm and atmospheric lighting. Especially as a pair, the lamps come into their own, for example on either side of a sofa, sideboard, or in a spacious living room.
