Description from the seller

Louis XV side table, with marquetry. French, or of French influence, from the early 20th century, inspired by Louis XV, in mahogany and other noble woods. Rectangular top with corners lightly cut, decorated with an inlaid surround and a central composition of vegetal and stylized floral motifs, executed in wood with a contrasting tone. The decoration extends across the front of the drawer, where a composition of branches and flowers is observed, framed by ornamental fittings in gilded metal. It features a front-cut drawer, with a central pull handle in gilded metal, flanked by decorative elements also in gilded metal. The waist follows the sweeping line of the piece, with a lower edge in a curved profile. Mounted on four curved and slightly splayed legs, inspired by Louis XV, connected by a rectangular lower shelf, also made of wood. The legs are enriched near the upper zones by ornamental gilded-metal applications, with vegetal and rocaille motifs. The composition evidences the revivalist taste of the early 20th century, reinterpreting models of eighteenth-century French furniture, with particular emphasis on the movement of forms, vegetal decoration, marquetry and gilded-metal applications. A decorative and functional piece, suitable as a side table, nightstand, or small auxiliary table. Dimensions: 66 x 48 x 31 cm.
