Yamila Velázquez (Las Tunas, Cuba, 1993) is a contemporary artist who uses digital intelligence tools; she currently lives and works in Alicante, Spain. Owner and partner of a company dedicated to the sale, representation, and development of artists and works of art, Velázquez combines her business vision with a deep artistic sensibility.
This young Cuban talent has established herself in the field of digital art, using contemporary media to explore themes related to nature, landscape, and the intimate relationship between woman and her surroundings. Her works subtly and powerfully address topics such as beauty, love, sensuality, and feminine delicacy, always set within enveloping, romantic, and refined atmospheres.

The sculpture portrays, in three-quarters view, the face of the villain Joker (with the characteristic makeup inspired by Arthur Fleck), meticulously composed of small pieces and blocks with a ceramic and stony appearance. The work establishes a deep connection with Kintsugi—the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken ceramic objects by joining their cracks with lacquer infused with gold to honor their flaws—by allowing powerful lines of golden light to emerge through the pronounced fissures that run across his temple, cheek, and chin.
