Russo-Balt brand Russo-Balt S24/40 three multicolour die-cast models in 1:43 scale, dated 1910–1920, in good used condition, with original packaging.
Description from the seller
1. Russo-Balt S24/40 Limousine (left) Black closed bodywork. The subject/model is one of the most prestigious automobiles of the Russian Empire (ca. 1912–1914). Such vehicles were used by wealthy individuals and state institutions.
2. Russo-Balt Torpedo (center) Green open body. A very typical model of the early 20th century. Richly detailed equipment: brass headlights, steering wheel, tools, spare wheel.
3. Russo-Balt Torpedo (right) The same model, but in black. For collectors, different colors are considered distinct variants.
About the model maker
On the packaging it only says: “Russo-Balt. Auto model. Scale 1:43.” Such models were produced in small runs by Russian manufacturers for collectible models. They: have a metal body (Die-Cast); are equipped with many individual parts; were assembled in small batches; are no longer manufactured today.
Historical background information
The real Russo-Balt works was the first large Russian automobile factory. It produced automobiles from about 1909 to 1918 in Riga, before production was partially evacuated during the First World War. Russo-Balt automobiles: took part in international endurance runs; were regarded as very reliable; were used by the Tsarist family...
