Description from the seller
A rare and highly decorative antique crystal decanter by the prestigious French crystal house Saint-Louis, with the corresponding catalogue page included among the photographs.
This remarkable piece is distinguished by its unusual sculptural form. The generously rounded, vertically elongated body is shaped with deep flowing flutes that emphasize the exceptional thickness, weight and brilliance of the crystal. The lower section is finished with a finely cut geometric band, while the interior of the base reveals a magnificent radiating starburst motif.
A substantial arched crystal handle rises gracefully above the body, giving the decanter an especially distinctive and architectural silhouette. The short angled neck is completed by an elegant faceted crystal stopper, beautifully reflecting and refracting the light.
The combination of its rounded body, bold loop handle, deep vertical cutting and star-cut base creates a strong visual presence while retaining the refinement and balance characteristic of Saint-Louis craftsmanship.
The decanter is in perfect antique condition, with normal signs of age and use consistent with its history. Some light surface marks, one microscopic missing on border, scratches and minor traces of time may be present. These discreet signs of age do not detract from the beauty or decorative impact of the piece. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
An impressive and highly collectible example of historic French crystal, perfect for an elegant bar collection, refined interior or collection of Saint-Louis glassware.
Height — 16 cm
Opening diameter — 2.4 cm
