Description from the seller
Pair of decorative secretary inkstands in a historicist form, simulating busts with knightly helmets. Pieces made in a cast metal alloy, featuring bases cut with chiselled decorations in volutes and arabesques of neo-Gothic taste. The helmets have movable grated visors and plumaged crests in the upper section. Functional rear hinge that opens to reveal the interior compartment. Patinated by time with natural oxidation and a golden hue on the inner base. French, from the late first half of the 20th century. They show slight operational wear and signs of use consistent with age. No interior cups/reservoirs, and one of them has only two quills when it should have three, one is missing. Otherwise everything is in order.
