In the shadows of New York City, on the lookout for his enemies, the gleam of his sharp blades on the metal plates of his armor eclipses everyone in his path, with cold, merciless eyes beneath a silver samurai helm that hides his face, and dressed in a black-gray tunic with a rugged cape, the arch-enemy of the most famous turtle brothers from pop culture receives his own statue: "Shredder BDS - TMNT - Art Scale 1/10" by Iron Studios. The statue depicts the intimidating leader of the criminal ninja group Foot Clan, placed on a diorama base formed by beams and rusty pipes from an old brick wall, referencing the dilapidated sewer landscape of New York.
Shredder, the principal antagonist of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in all media of the franchise, is Oroku Saki, a member of the Foot Clan in Japan. He accused his former rival Hamato Yoshi of an attempted murder of a visiting sensei. Forcibly exiled to New York, Yoshi lived in the sewers with four turtles. Saki took leadership of the Foot Clan and became one of their deadliest warriors. He began operating his ninja clan in the US under the name Shredder and led various criminal activities. When he confronted Yoshi alive and tried to kill him with a viscous substance called Mutagen or Ooze, he transformed Yoshi into an anthropomorphic rat. As he mutated, so did his turtles, who gained humanoid bodies and intelligence. Yoshi, who took the name Splinter, acted as their father figure and sensei and trained his turtles in ninjutsu to oppose his old enemy and his followers.

The Shredder, conceived by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, with his simple yet striking appearance, his armor vaguely based on a samurai armor and knives inspired by large trapezoidal cheese graters, made him one of the most memorable villains from 80s pop culture and was largely responsible for the success of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a multimedia franchise. The Shredder statue, unveiled at SDCC 2022 by Iron Studios and more fully seen during the Inside Iron Studios Day show, is already available for pre-order and makes a perfect addition to a diorama with the other figures of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo (BDS - TMNT - Art Scale 1/10), which are also available for pre-order separately.
