Description from the seller
A unique opportunity to buy an exceptionally beautiful Rittreck 6×6.
I’m thinning out my personal collection, and this is one of the units that has to go with a heavy heart.
The Rittreck 6×6 is a special piece of Japanese camera history: the model was produced for only a short time in the late 1960s by Musashino Kōki before the whole system was taken over by Norita. As a result, today there are not many specimens left, and certainly not in this condition.
What really sets this camera apart is that the viewfinder is fully intact. With most Rittreck and Norita cameras you now see desilvering in the finder, causing the image to be blurry or speckled, but this one is completely free of that. The viewfinder is clear.
The Norita viewfinder that comes with it is also something collectors often look for on its own, because it is missing or damaged on many units.
The camera itself feels and operates like a large 35mm SLR, but with the image quality of 6×6 medium format. Everything runs smoothly, the shutter works nicely, and I have used it every few months for personal projects.
Undoubtedly, the finest part remains the 80mm f/2 Rittron lens. For a medium-format lens, f/2 is extremely fast, and you can see it in the photos: soft, pleasant bokeh and surprising sharpness when used wide open. Ideal for portraits or creative images with a distinctive character.
