Can one photograph desire, photograph the waiting for pleasure? No one, as well as Chas Ray Krider, has known how to do it with such lascivious delicacy. To photograph the illusion of being the one these half-naked women, offered to the gaze, are waiting for in the learned disorder of their lingerie, lingerie that pretends to hide what draws our eyes, which conceals it to better exhibit it. What could these drawn-up, bare women who await our visit while sipping a whiskey be thinking?
