Two silver figures of acrobats on unicycles, by YESO, in sterling silver (.925), Italian origin, circa 1970s–1980s, measuring 14.5 cm high, 5 cm wide and 2 cm deep, with a total weight of 82 g, standing on two small integrated oval bases; condition: very good with light signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Pair of tightrope walkers on a unicycle
Artist / Author: YESO (Pseudonym of a master model maker and designer active in the second half of the 20th century)
Type of work: Figurative microsculpture / vintage art object
Date of realization: Period between the 1970s and the 1990s (Post-1968)
Artistic style: Italian expressive modernism (elongated, threadlike lines inspired by Giacometti)
Material: Sterling silver (finish in patinated / antiqued silver)
Total height of the figure: 14.5 cm
Total weight: 82.0 g
Condition of the structure: Solid metal structure, self-supporting on two small integrated oval bases.
Author's signature: The name "YESO" punched in uppercase letters, positioned along the outer lower edge of the two circular bases.
Metal hallmark: Oval 925 stamp inserted in the recess of the joining arm, certifying the metal's purity (92.5% pure silver).
Truncated lozenge hallmark barely legible, perhaps bearing the five-pointed star (Symbol of the Italian Republic post-1968); the geographic area is probably Tuscany.
The dynamic composition formed by two distinct figures placed on tall unicycles shows a higher rarity coefficient than the more common single subjects (such as orchestral musicians or trades) by the same artist.
