Biedermeier Cross - Cast brass - 1850-1900 - Crucifix - 33 cm

Nineteenth-century bronze altar cross on a blackened turned wooden base from the Netherlands in the Biedermeier style.
This cross with a fine corpus was produced around 1860–1870 for use in a domestic setting or on a small altar in a church. In particular, the cast cross is very beautifully executed with rich palmette decorations on the arms of the cross.
