Description from the seller
Extensible Dining Table with Triple Pedestal in George III / Regency style – Mahogany and Brass/Bronze, 19th/20th century
Description
Elegant and excellent extensible dining table (Twin pedestal / Double pedestal dining table style) in fine mahogany wood, crafted in the classic Regency / George III style.
The table stands out for its extraordinary versatility: it comprises two main pedestal sections (each with fluted three-branch legs) that join perfectly via a central extension and gold-toned metal hinges/hooks.
Design & Construction: The oval top features softly rounded corners with a molded edge. The structure rests on two turned baluster legs, each supported by three finely fluted splayed legs.
Fine details: The ends of the legs terminate with elegant scarpette and pivoting brass/bronze casters, perfect for easing movement and protecting the floor.
Mechanism: Under the top the sophisticated period workmanship is visible with wooden chains, locking pins, and metal hooks that ensure maximum stability both when open and in the compact configuration.
A piece of furniture of great class, ideal for both important dinners and elegant settings with a classical or contemporary taste.
