AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Presented is a particularly well-preserved theater glass from the German optician Jacob Sachs, Cologne and Berlin.
Jacob Sachs (also often written Jakob Sachs) was a well-known German court optician who produced high-quality optical instruments in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
He was also appointed court optician!
The title “Hofoptiker” (or Hof-Optiker) was a predicate title. It meant that Jacob Sachs was an official supplier to a princely, ducal, or royal house (often the Prussian or a regional Rhineland noble house). This title stood for the highest craftsmanship, excellent glass quality, and fine mechanics, which is why his pieces are still popular with collectors today.
Antique pieces from his workshop are today popular collector’s items in the category Vintage Optics and Arts and Crafts.
Typical antique products from Jacob Sachs
From historic workshops such as that of Jacob Sachs, especially noble theater and sighting instruments have endured:
Opera glasses and theater glasses: These were usually made from noble materials such as mother of pearl, brass, aluminum, or leather.
Here the tubes and eyecups were encased with bone or ivory—very fine workmanship and without cracks!

Minimal, barely noticeable indentation on one of the lower lenses—metal.

No mold infestation!
Clear sight.

Dimensions:
Height: 8
Width: 10
Depth: 4
all approximate measurements in cm

This beautiful specimen should appeal to many collectors and enthusiasts.
