Stool - Wood - African Stool

An impressive mid-20th-century hand-carved wooden stool from Ghana, standing 41 cm high. The entire stool has been carved from one solid piece of wood, with no joined sections, and features two opposing stylised faces supporting the circular seat. It displays attractive age-related wear, visible hand-tool marks, natural irregularities and a rich, time-worn patina consistent with traditional use. Dating approximately from the 1940s–1960s, it is a characterful example of West African craftsmanship and works equally well as a functional stool, plant stand or striking sculptural interior piece. Presented in good vintage condition, with wear and imperfections appropriate to its age and handmade construction.
