Description from the seller

This copy inscribed and signed on the title page by playwright and photographer Pierre Bourgeade (1927–2009). 130 pages and 50 black-and-white photographs—including 10 in a fold-out insert attached to the final endpaper—with text by Pierre Bourgeade. This book presents the text of a play alongside photographs taken during its performance. The lead actress featured here is Rita Renoir (1934–2016), a famous star of the Parisian cabaret Crazy Horse Saloon and one of France's most renowned striptease artists.

Sturdy publisher's hardcover binding with an illustrated dust jacket. The book and dust jacket are in excellent overall condition.

Pierre Bourgeade was a close friend and confidant of the great Surrealist photographer and visual artist Man Ray (1890–1976), with whom he notably published a book of conversations and interviews. Both shared a fascination with the aesthetics of the nude, eroticism, and the black-and-white photographic avant-garde; they collaborated on portfolios and limited-edition art books. For his part, Pierre Bourgeade published around forty plays, some of which made a significant mark on contemporary theater upon their staging. He also wrote poetry, most often of an erotic nature.

Shipped in discreet, fully protected packaging with postal tracking.
