Mortar - Bronze, Brass - Pestle with lion décor

Heavy characteristic bronze/brass mortar equipped with 2 lions. The mortar has a beautiful, well-aged patina (antique glow) that testifies to years of use and history.
On the front the mortar is decorated with a detailed heraldic coat of arms featuring a climbing lion under a crown. This type was commonly used in old pharmacies for grinding herbs and medicines.
Solid cast bronze/brass (very heavy quality).
Equipped with two classic, knob-shaped handles (ears) and a nicely flaring upper rim.
In a beautiful, authentic antique condition with light signs of aging that suit the age. The pestle is complete and belongs with it originally.
Perfect to use as a decoration in a country kitchen.
