Description from the seller
Sculpture "Virgin" Plaster, pps. s. XX - Spain
Exquisite representation of the Virgin made from molded material, probably plaster, and datable to the early 20th century. Based on its formal and technical characteristics, its origin could be placed in Spain. Notably, its sober and elegant polychromy, in which the flesh tones acquire a delicate ivory hue, evoking purity and spirituality, in marked contrast to the dark cloak that wraps the figure and the background that frames it. The hair also features gold details, as does the nimbus, adding luminosity to the ensemble and reinforcing its sacred character.
This piece is very heavy.
Dimensions: 53.5 x 44 x 12 cm.
