Description from the seller
Faceted-cut crystal travel perfume bottle – 14k gold mount – 19th century
Elegant travel perfume bottle dating from the second half of the 19th century, with a slightly tapered rectangular shape.
The body is made of thick crystal or glass finely cut, featuring long vertical fluting alternating with facets and geometric motifs. The neck receives a finely engraved gold mount, finished with a hinged swivel cap.
The opening mechanism still reveals its small internal glass stopper, removable, designed to ensure the bottle’s airtight seal.
The piece is kept in its original travel case, black leather-bound and lined inside with duck blue velvet, precisely molded to the shape of the bottle.
A beautiful grooming and travel object characteristic of the refined taste of the Victorian/Napoléon III era.
Condition: good overall considering age. Signs of use and wear to the case and its interior lining. The mount shows patina and wear to the gilding. Small internal glass stopper preserved. See photographs for detailed condition.
