A beautiful specimen of botryoidal Hemimorphite from the famous Palabanda Quarries, Republic of the Congo.

The specimen is almost completely covered by vivid blue, botryoidal Hemimorphite forming rounded, bubbly aggregates across the natural matrix. The intense blue colour and soft, lustrous surfaces give the specimen a very distinctive appearance.

The reverse and sides reveal the natural brown host rock, providing a strong contrast with the blue Hemimorphite. The specimen has a very attractive three-dimensional form and can be displayed from several angles.

Palabanda is a well-known locality for blue botryoidal Hemimorphite, with specimens from this occurrence documented in mineralogical collections and on Mindat.
