Introduced in 1995, the 993-generation Porsche 911 GT2 was developed primarily as a homologation model for GT2-class motorsport. Based on the 911 Turbo, it eliminated the Turbo’s all-wheel-drive system in favour of rear-wheel drive while reducing weight and increasing performance.
