Philips - FP 440 Turntable

The Philips FP 440, also known as the 70FP440, is a unique and compact turntable from 1984 by Philips. This model deviates strongly from traditional turntables due to its special 'front loader' design with a pull-out drawer. In addition, it features an electronically controlled tangential (linear) tonearm. Because the needle thus moves in a straight line across the record, the outer corners are minimized and there is hardly any sound distortion. Thanks to the microprocessor-controlled tip buttons on the front panel, the operation is furthermore fully automatic.
