Soumak - Kuba - Carpet - 105 cm - 73 cm

We present an authentic handwoven Caucasian Soumak rug, from the Kuba region (Azerbaijan), dated approximately between 1920 and 1930.

The piece is made using the traditional Soumak warp-wrapping technique, notable for its visible floating threads on the reverse and the slight relief of the design on the surface.

The design features stylized geometric tribal motifs arranged in a field balanced with multiple borders, typical of Soumak pieces from the Eastern Caucasus.

Materials: wool and silk on a cotton foundation.
Conservation status: very good condition for its age, well preserved.

Authentic early 20th-century Caucasian tribal textile, suitable for both collection and decoration.
