Beautiful, very large sea barnacles (Balanomorpha) – the order of stalked crustaceans from the infraclass Thecostraca. Adult specimens are sessile and have bodies protected by a shell of calcareous plates. A barnacle is a cirripede crustacean, i.e., a marine crustacean that is hermaphroditic, living attached to the seabed or as a parasite, with its body covered by a shell, and its thoracic limbs, in the form of cirri, functioning as filters to capture food particles. They live in areas with strong currents where the sea breaks violently. Dimensions: 110/155/215 mm. Highly recommended for collectors and interior decorators.
