Roman glass miniature two-handed jar, 5 cm tall, dating to 400–500 AD, Ex Bonhams, provenance from a Dutch collection and a private Belgian collection (acquired 1970s–1990s), authentic original/official, excellent condition with iridescent spots near the neck and shoulder.
Description from the seller
Opaque black miniature two handed glass jar. The jar has an irregular everted rim; short, concave neck; narrow, almost horizontal shoulder; an oval body with thick side; round, thick bottom; two handles applied to edge of shoulder and top of side, drawn up and in, attached to lip of rim. The side is tooled into nine thick ribs that slant upwards from right to left.
Dimension: 5 cm tall.
Condition: great condition. Some nice spots of iridescence around the neck/shoulder.
Provenance: Dutch collection. Ex Bonham. Private Belgium collection, acquired between 1970s-1990s.
