This 100 Schilling silver commemorative coin dedicated to the bicentennial of the death of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The obverse depicts the composer playing the violin alongside a young musician at the harpsichord, in a composition of great elegance inspired by 18th-century classical iconography and executed with fine detail modeling. The reverse shows a view of the historic center of Salzburg with Salzburg Cathedral in the foreground and the Hohensalzburg Fortress in the background, a symbol of Mozart’s birthplace. Minted in Proof quality, the piece features intense mirrored fields that contrast with completely matte reliefs, achieving an extraordinary Ultra Cameo effect. The condition is outstanding, in line with the PF68 Ultra Cameo rating certified by CAG, with surfaces virtually flawless and excellent visual appeal.
