Description from the seller
CAMBODIA. 20 Sen. 1959.
- Value: 20 Sen.
- Year: 1959.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: ceremonial altar with rays and legend in Khmer around. Reverse: “ROYAUME DU CAMBODGE · 20 SEN · 1959” with value in Khmer in the center surrounded by a vegetal crown.
- Grade: MS67 (NGC).
20 Sen aluminum coin with a detailed and symbolic design, where the obverse features a ceremonial altar from which rays emanate, evoking religious and traditional elements of the country, surrounded by an ornamental Khmer script inscription. The reverse combines colonial and local influences, with the French legend and the value in Khmer framed by a finely executed laurel crown. The specimen is in exceptional condition, with very intense original lustre, barely any field imperfections and sharply defined reliefs, typical of a very high grade. Issued during the Kingdom of Cambodia under Norodom Sihanouk, it reflects a period of national identity and cultural heritage in Southeast Asia in the mid-20th century.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to leave absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
