Description from the seller
It is a clock with 19th-century Louis XV style gilt fittings, a luxury piece that combines the warmth of white Carrara marble with the ornamental richness of gilded bronze, faithfully following the rococo spirit: dynamic curves, vegetal motifs, elegant asymmetries, and a theatricality that makes the whole a thing both functional and sculptural.
The body of the clock rises on a base of immaculate marble, flanked by columns and bronze terminal accents that unfold leaves, scrolls, and small flowers crafted with meticulous care. The dial, framed by an ornate bezel, preserves the classical aesthetics of the XIXth century, with clearly defined numerals and stylized hands. Above the ensemble, a bronze sculptural motif—instruments, foliage, or decorative emblems characteristic of the style—crowns the piece with an aristocratic air.
The gilt fittings, formed by the matching candelabras, repeat the dialogue between marble and bronze, with sinuous arms and ornamental details that reinforce the overall aesthetic unity of the set. One of the candelabras shows the absence of a adornment, a minor detail that does not affect the overall presence and can be easily restored.
The clock is in good condition, preserving intact its decorative strength and the quality of its materials. It only requires a nut on the bell and some adjustments to the mechanism to regain perfect functioning, something common in antique pieces of this category. On the back appears the author’s mark, which confirms its provenance and adds historical and collectible value.
A ensemble that brings together luxury, craftsmanship, and French character, ideal for classical interiors, historical watch collections, or spaces seeking a piece with monumental presence.
Certified shipping and proper packaging.
