Description from the seller

Old French mantle clock, dating from the late 19th century, made of black marble and equipped with a mechanical movement signed **A.D. Mougin – Deux Médailles**, with its star marking visible on the mechanism.

The clock presents a classic and elegant architecture, with a white enamel dial in Roman numerals, surrounded by a gilded trim. The front and the base are adorned with fine gilded decorations. The rear also features a circular decorative pierced element.

The manually wound mechanical movement is complete and accompanied by its **balance wheel and its key**. The clock also has a **bell strike**.

The operation has been tested for **three consecutive days**: the movement runs correctly, the hands advance normally and the chime triggers correctly.

The clock is in a **good overall condition considering its age**. The marble shows some small signs of wear and slight impacts related to time, mainly visible upon close inspection. The dial shows a fine superficial scratch visible in the photographs; it is not a crack.

The movement bears the signature **A.D. Mougin – Deux Médailles** as well as the number **9969**.

Dimensions approximately:

* Width: 27 cm
* Height: 23 cm
* Depth: 12 cm
* Weight: about 8 kg

The clock will be carefully protected and packed for transport. The photographs are an integral part of the description and allow precise appreciation of its condition.
