Elegant writing desk / coffee table in Neoclassical style / Louis XVI, in mahogany wood (or premium veneer) with gilded details (Mid-20th century). A writing desk or coffee table of great charm, characterized by clean, rigorous lines that evoke Neoclassical style and the Louis XVI period. A piece of high-quality cabinetmaking. Estimated era: Mid-20th century (circa 1940-1960)
Origin: Italy
Material: Solid wood and veneer in premium veneer (mahogany / dark exotic wood with warm grain, or mirror-worked walnut)
Details and Finishes:
- Subtop fascia enriched with elegant vertical grooves (bastonatura).
- Profiles and details finished in a golden tone.
- Tapered tronco-pyramidal legs downward, typical of the Neoclassical taste, enhanced with gilded feet/terminal caps.
- Practical front drawer fitted with a central metal escutcheon. Slight scratches on the top but easily restorable, see photo.
- Note: for this product type local pickup is required; the address will be provided at the time of payment. Additionally, shipping is possible only with prior agreement with the buyer, using a specialized courier of choice and at the buyer’s expense.
