Moon - CD1 CD player

The Moon CD-1 from Simaudio is a particularly good high-end CD player from the circa-2008 period. At the time it was the entry model of Simaudio/Moon, but technically and in build quality clearly above the average CD players.

The CD-1 is known for a powerful, dynamic and full-bodied sound. The midrange and the low end are especially praised. What Hi-Fi described it as very musical, with good timing and a strong midrange.

Another extensive test described the sound as powerful, rich, detailed and spacious, without the typical thin/clinical digital sound of some cheaper CD players.

My assessment today: about 8.5/10 as a CD player. Definitely interesting if you mainly play CDs.

What is it worth second-hand?

For a Moon CD-1 in good to very good condition, complete with remote control:
