Table clock - Marble, Bronze - 1800-1850

Antique French mantel clock (pendule) from the 19th century.
The clock weighs 8.5 kilos and 38 cm wide. The base is black marble and stands on four round brass feet. On the marble base is a delicate figure reading or writing. The marble and the statue are in top condition with no pieces missing or broken or glued. The timepiece functions perfectly and has a white enamel dial; the movement is signed HONORE PONS 1827, a well-known clockmaker; in 1827 Pons won a prize for quality and precision
