The Minolta α-7700i (1988), sold as the Dynax/Maxxum 7000i abroad, headed Minolta's second-generation autofocus line and introduced the Creative Expansion Card system — swappable cards that reprogrammed the camera for particular subjects, an idea well ahead of its time. Fast-handling and solidly built, it uses the Minolta A (Alpha) mount shared with later Sony A-mount cameras.
