Oude Delft Albada finder Type A (5 cm) in good physical condition and tested and working, an original round Albada finder for 50 mm standard lenses with a universal cold shoe mount.
Description from the seller
Offered: a unique piece of Dutch optical history:
an original round Albada finder/viewer (Type A / 50mm), manufactured by the renowned N.V. Optische Industrie "De Oude Delft" (worldwide known as Old Delft).
The Albada finder, invented by the Dutch professor L.E.W. van Albada, revolutionized photography by projecting a bright, floating frame into the viewfinder via a built-in mirror layer. This allows the photographer to shoot with both eyes open and keep a perfect overview.
This specific Type A model is designed for the standard 5 cm / 50 mm focal length and features a universal mount shoe (cold shoe). It is the perfect vintage accessory for high-end rangefinder cameras (such as Leica III, Contax or Canon) and luxury folding cameras from the 1930s to the 1950s.
Manufacturer: Optische Industrie "De Oude Delft" (Delft, Netherlands)
Type: Albada Type A (for 50mm standard lenses)
Mount: Universal accessory shoe / flash shoe mounting
Condition: In authentic, vintage condition with normal signs of aging (patina) on the paint/casing, appropriate to its age. The glass is original and the construction is unmodified. A beautiful object for the collector of rare Old Delft optics or classic camera accessories.
Please inspect the photos carefully for your own impression of the cosmetic state. As clearly visible in the photos, the finder shows age-related signs of use. The viewing portion (circular) is clear despite dust particles/age-related specks that can be seen in the photos.
