Pot - Brass, Copper - A traditional Dutch pot

Stunningly beautiful highly decorative and very elegant large copper and brass Dutch extinguisher pot. Item features a conical, hand-beaten copper body, a domed brass lid with a decorative finial, side ring handles, and stands elevated on three brass ball feet. The pot was historically used in the Netherlands from the Middle Ages through the 19th century. These airtight vessels safely starved remaining peat or wood embers of oxygen to extinguish them, allowing the unburned fuel or charcoal to be saved and reused later.
