Elegant Spanish silver box, small in size with exquisite decoration, notable for its delicate romantic scene and the rich ornamentation on its two faces.
The main lid features a charming pastoral scene in relief, starring a young couple in a bucolic setting. The composition shows a young woman seated beside a basket, accompanied by a young man who seems to be approaching her in an affectionate gesture.
Around them appear small animals, trees, and rural structures that complete this pastoral-inspired scene.
The ensemble is framed by elaborate Rococo-style decoration, with scrolls, acanthus leaves, floral motifs, and shell elements that give movement and elegance to the composition.
The reverse side presents an equally attractive decoration. In the center stands an oval medallion with an ornamental urn surrounded by vegetal garlands. The medallion is framed by a symmetrical composition of scrolls, leaves, and floral motifs, accompanied by fine radial lines that enhance its decorative character.
One of the most interesting details of this piece is its small green circular element, located on the front, next to the clasp. This detail, resembling a small ornamental stone, provides an elegant color contrast and helps identify the opening area.
The exact nature of the green material has not been determined.
The box has a hinged lid and a gilded interior, which creates a beautiful contrast with the silver finish of the exterior.
