Description from the seller

Late 19th / Early 20th Century French Adjustable Brass Candlesticks – Set of 3

An attractive set of three antique French brass candlesticks, each featuring a traditional push-up height adjustment mechanism. Their warm golden patina, elegant flared bases and visible traces of age give the group an authentic decorative character.

Key Details

- Origin & Period: France, dating approximately from the late 19th to early 20th century.
- Design: Three mismatched candlesticks with cylindrical stems, flared candle sockets, moulded circular bases and side adjustment knobs.
- Materials & Craftsmanship: Made of brass with traditional turned and moulded detailing. The adjustable mechanism allows the candle support to be moved vertically within the stem.
- Dimensions: Heights range from 16.5 to 18.5 cm (6.50–7.28 in). Base diameters range from 8.8 to 10 cm (3.46–3.94 in).
- Condition: Antique condition with visible wear, oxidation, patina, surface marks and some deformation consistent with age and use. Areas of verdigris are also visible. Please refer carefully to the photographs.
- Collectibility: Their varied proportions and naturally aged surfaces make this trio particularly appealing for collectors of antique French brassware, period interiors and decorative candle lighting.

A characterful decorative set that displays beautifully together while preserving the individual history and patina of each piece.
