An impressive and elegant tribal mask from the Guro people of Ivory Coast. This mask is a beautiful example of West African craftsmanship and combines human refinement with animal symbolism.
The mask is hand-carved from a single block of solid wood and decorated with vibrant polychrome pigments in yellow, red, and black. Characteristic of the Guro style are the elongated face, the almond-shaped eyes, and the graceful horns that symbolize strength and spiritual connection.
