AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Important Maple & Co. sideboard (London & Paris), an authentic English high-quality cabinetmaking piece dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.

Made in precious solid mahogany, it fully preserves all of its original elements: the top with original moulded display mirror, turned columns, refined relief carvings, period hardware, and the original plaque of the famous manufacturer Maple & Co., one of the most prestigious British furniture manufacturers of the Victorian and Edwardian era.

The piece was personally purchased in London about forty years ago and has remained in the same private property ever since. It is therefore not a piece recently placed on the market, but a furnishing with documented provenance and family history.

The quality of construction is evident in every detail: artisan craftsmanship, elegant proportions, rich carved decoration and superior finishes, features that made Maple & Co. a supplier to the aristocracy and the European upper middle class.

The condition is very good for its age, with normal and slight signs of time consistent with over a century of life, which confirm authenticity and charm.

An important piece with great visual impact, destined for collectors, antique dealers, interior designers, or connoisseurs of original English furniture. Complete specimens with the original display mirror, maker's mark, and definite provenance are increasingly difficult to find on the market.
